Manlana Karenga interviewed by Gwen Walters... Dr. Karenga speaks about his creation of a seven day African-American holiday, Kawnzaa. The goal of this holiday, started in 1966, is to help Black Americans get in touch with their origins and history. Some of its organizaing principles are a thanksgiving to the earth and goodwill. After a brief explanation of the holiday, Dr. Karenga answers listener phone-ins.
