The tape contains audio from the 1966 film "Mingus". The documentary is based on Charles Mingus Jr. (1922-1979), a well-known American jazz musician and civil rights activists. He was marked as an exceptional bass player and composer and was well-known for his 10-minute tone poem "Pithecanthropus Erectus".
