Description:

On this week’s From the Vault we listen back to a 1975 recording that examines the happenings of Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon, who died on September 3, 2012 at the age of 92. Who Is Reverend Sun Myung Moon and What Is He Up to Anyway?, a candid special program produced by storied Pacifican Adi Gevins, follows Reverend Moon’s 1970 arrival in the United States, and connects and calibrates the Korean evangelist’s establishment of religious and business interests in major American cities to his rapid ascension as a cult figure-head for countless young Americans.

From the Vault is presented through the Pacifica Radio Archives Preservation and Access Project, funded in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, past grants from the Grammy Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and the American Archive funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, along with the generous support of Pacifica Radio listeners.
