Excerpts from a mass meeting about the battle for People's Park held at Merritt College in Oakland on the evening of May 16, 1969. The meeting was originally sponsored by the Berkeley Coalition. Those attending it voted to have a member of the People's Park Negotiating Committee, Frank Bardacke, chair the meeting. Afterwards, they discussed the causes of the crisis and possible strategy and tactics for the future, and voted on several proposals. The meeting was held in Oakland because a state of emergency had been proclaimed for Berkeley by Governor Ronald Reagan and included a prohibition on all public meetings. The program was produced and is narrated by Carol Amyx. Contains sensitive language.
