She goes on to dispell common misperceptions of feminists, and the need for the United States to vote more women into political office. She goes on to warn against the "Republican Right's" challange to reproductive rights, the need for men to be brought into the family unit, and the high rate of abuse of women in society. The use of women as cheap labor, Ehrenreich contends, is not an accident. The negative self-image suffered by women is apparent with bulemia and silicone implants, and the self-destruction of professional women.
