Field recordings of one of the last traditional Cahuilla singers provides the basis for a reconstruction of the creation myth of the Cahuilla Indians, and an insight into the ways in which, even now, it continues to influence tribal life (30 min.) -- r.3. The story of how the last generation of Cahuilla elders to have had any direct experience of traditional culture are trying to preserve and pass on what they know (30 min.).
