She helped found "Kitchen Table: Women of Color Press" and was co-editor and contributor to "This Bridge Called My Back: Writing by Radical Women of Color". Her recently published book "Loving in the War Years" (Lo Que Nunca Paso por Sus Labios) is a collage of essays, stories, and poems where she explores the political and personal meaning of being a Chicana and a lesbian in the U.S. today.
