The current holders of power use fear, diversion, decepiton and silence to maintain support and consent for the system. People are taught to fear a democratic socialist society, and are diverted to see other issues as prime in both domestic and foreign affairs. Crime and the lower classes are used to create fear among the middle class whites. He analysis the mind numbing force of mainsteam media, and uses the Gulf War as an example.
