Bittersweet encounters: Blacks and Jews look at attitudes in their own communities, and at each other

Description:

"'Let my people go' Bittersweet encounters: Blacks and Jews discuss their history and their relationship to each other" was a four-night series of panel discussions looking into the evolution of Black and Jewish communities in the U.S. and the history of alliances and antagonisms between them. Regular programming was pre-empted to provide historical and analytic background to these important and often volatile issues. Each of the first three nights, two separate one-hour panels would explore the intra and inter-community relations between the two groups. On the last evening, Thursday, December 6, 1979, one two-hour panel brought together panelists from both communities to deal specifically with the history of the two communities' relationship. All four nights include listener call-ins. Produced by Jim Berland, Anita Frankel, and Helene Rosenbluth.
