Description:
A fascinating interview with black artists/social visionaries, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, who comment on the shift from post-WWII social activism to the culture of repression fostered during the McCarthy era. Especially valuable is the perspective these black pioneers have, as politically active, outspoken artists used to struggle as part of the human condition. They consider the "abolition of poverty" in an intellectual and spiritual sense the greatest challenge of our time.
