Description:
Lady Borton, author of Sensing the Enemy and the upcoming book After Sorrow, worked with the Quakers Friends Service Committee in Vietnam. In this talk Lady Borton relates experiences during the war and brings listeners up to date with her most recent trip in the Spring of 1987. She chronicles the survival strategies of the Vietnamese people, drawing rich portraits of their lives during the years of foreign invasion and taking a closeup look at the current experiences of the two women from the south and north. A fascinating account of a society on bicycles and oxen power that was able to defeat the most powerful military machine in the world. Produced by Pam Burton.
