Series record for series on New York City hospitals, evaluating the affiliation program between municipal and voluntary hospitals and abuses in the system. Lucy Komisar spent two months investigating the hospitals of New York City, exposing the failings of the health system from preventable deaths in the hospitals to the crumbling buildings they inhabit and the exploitation and abuse the poor have to endure in these health facilities. Recordings with doctors, administrators, nurses, chief health officials of the city, and patients were made circa July-August 1968.
