Terrorizing the environmental movement / Judy Bari ; interviewed by Dennis Bernstein.
Environmental activist Judy Bari discusses the dangers she has encountered because of her outspoken environmentalist opinions. She relates a near fatal bombing incident in 1991, during Earth First efforts to prevent old growth logging. She then traces a series of violent anti-environmentalist actions--Redwood summer violence; death threats; pipe bombings--and how police and FBI mishandled the cases. It is environmentalist groups such as Earth First and Rites of Spring which have been singled out for investigation, owing to the media portrayal of environmentalists as terrorists. She concludes by comparing the media's misrepresentation of both environmental and anti-Gulf war activists, pointing to the growing threat of a New World Order.|TERRORIZING THE ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT / Judy Bari| interviewed by Dennis Bernstein. - Environmental activist Judy Bari disucsses the dangers she has encountered because of her outspoken environmentalists opinions.
