Description:
Oedipus was presented by Performance Group of New York City in December of 1977 and January of 1978. The play was written by Roman playwright, philosopher, and political adviser, Lucius Annaeus Seneca in 50 A.D. and was based on the classical Greek play, Oedipus Rex by Sophocles written 500 years earlier.

<br />It was performed at the Performing Garage in the Soho area of New York. The play was adapted by Ted Hughes from a translation by David Anthony Turner, and directed by Richard Schechner
