The <i>Bay Area Arts</i> radio show discusses the play, <i>Jo Anne!</i>, written by Ed Bullins and directed by John Doyle at the Julian Theater in San Francisco. Jack Tracha is the publicity director of Black Repertory Theater in Berkeley, Ca. Play is based on the life of Joan Little, a North Carolinian woman who escaped from jail leaving behind a dead guard in 1974 and became the first woman to be acquitted of using deadly force to resist sexual assault. Little's case brought to light issues of civil rights, feminism, rape and sexual assault, treatment of prisoners, truth and justice.
