BB5457.07 - 1/15/70 14 min. BB5457.08 - 1/19/70 15 min. John Trudell interviews La Nada Means, student at UC Berkeley, Native American. Involved in 3rd World student strike, arrested in protest, suspended for two quarters. University had hearing and pronounced her not guilty.

BB5457.05 - This one is an extract of program from 12/23/69. Substituted for 1/7/70. John Adar is in studio being interviewed by KPFA station manager Al Solcowood (sp?). Adar is an academic and talks about how the occupation is a great opportunity for Native Americans to show what they can do - environment, education, etc.

The death of George Jackson

George Jackson, one of the Soledad Brothers, was killed in San Quentin prison on August 21, 1971, three days before his trial for the 1970 murder of prison guard John Mills was to commence. Once the news got out, KPFA reporters rushed to San Quentin to start reporting on the scene.
