The Citizen\'s Agenda for \'92 / Ralph Nader

PRA Archive #:
SZ0698a-b
Description:

Speech by noted consumer advocate and social critic Ralph Nader on the plutocracy and growing up corporate.

He begins by criticizing the educational process which does not stimulate creative thought, as demonstrated by the latest University rage \"FUCO,\" which is a disciplinary, sovereignty power. The language of politics is limited, with corporate socialism a Federal policy of giving welfare to failed corporations from taxpayer money. The Savings and Loan crisis is only one example of this process. The legal process only supports this system, with the 1986 tax reform law only the most recent example. The United States government is committed to helping corporations, not individuals. Because we grow up in a corporate state, however, we are not trained to have critical thinking skills so that we can solve the problems we face. Nader goes on to discuss the government as consumer, corruption in unions, how to take control of national resources, and how to get involved politically. The talk is followed by a question and answer session.
