Joan Thornell interviews Ntozake Shange (1948 - ), poet and playwright, and Thulani Davis (1949 - ), playwright, librettist, and teacher of English at the Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. for her "Another Perspective" series on the types and development of Black music. Topics discussed include Stevie Wonder, Motown, jazz, the blues, and the differences between poetry and music scenes in certain cities.
