Description:
Chicken Soup With Barley / by Arnold Wesker directed by Nina Serrano Landau. - Performance of the three act play.
Radio adaptation of Arnold Wesker's play (written in 1959), 3 acts. It tells the story of the life of a Jewish couple, Harry and Sarah Kahn and their children Ada and Ronnie, over a 20 year span from 1936-1956. We hear from this communist family and a group of their friends who live in the east end of London about the build up to the war and the efforts made by the party to fight fascism and the response to the "Jewish anti premature anti fascists". The friends discussion is always over food and drinking tea.
