Art, women and the establishment

New York University’s Loeb Student Center’s Art Committee joins with the Fine Arts Museum of the Women’s Interart Center in presenting a series of special events to salute 1975: Women and Art. Tuesday, May 13, 7pm panel discussion on “Art, Women and the Establishment.” Alloway discusses the contributions contemporary women artists have made and coins the term “post-stylistic homogeneity” as it applies to women artists. Gillespie talks about Ivan Karp and how the artists with the most money get the most criticism and attention. Faith Ringgold asks what the panelists are going to do to address racism in the art world. The panelists also talk about money and the worth of a university education. Tripp talks about her predictions for women artists in the year 2000.Sound quality is poor.
