A documentary on how Presidential Executive Order 9066 interned 110,000 Japanese Americans in World War II concentration camps. This program was produced by KPFK's Victor Vazquez with field interviews by Sam Kushner. It focuses on the Manzanar committee, a group of Japanese Americans whose efforts have restored the concentration camp located in California's high deserts for the sake of posterity. It also describes those capmps by using interviews with former inmates as well as excerpts from a guided tour of Manzanar, California. They describe what the arrival was like, day to day life, and the successful struggle to get the state historical site status for the camp at Manzanar.
