(4 Minutes) Police Beat Earth First Protesters in Minneapolis Activists from Earth First and the american Indian Movement have joined with residents in a Minneapolis neighborhood to fight the construction of a highway to the mall of America, the larges mall in the US. well, yesterday, that neighborhood was raided by the Minnesota state troopers and city police. During the raid, we had a chance to speak to one of the activists. He goes by the name Solstice. Seven people who were arrested yesterday were released early this morning, and several protesters sustained injuries from the beatings, including broken bones. Bulldozers were also sent to the neighborhood, where they proceeded to destroy water and gas pipes, which will make it difficult for protesters to endure the coming winter. Four protesters have initiated a hunger strike in protest of the raid.
