PRA Archive #:

Description:

Peter Dale Scott is interviewed about the relationship of United States foreign policy and Central American cocaine production and smuggling. He continues by discussing the actions of Steven Carr and highlights the most significant aspect of the whole episode in terms of United States forces supporting the political Right in the Third World. The war on drugs is a myth built up by the Reagan administration. Central America has been a supplier of drugs to the United States since World War II, and we continue to support friendly governments who do not block drug production and exporting. If nothing is done, he concludes, military terror will grow in Latin America.
