Description:

Talk on the American dream and a "Brave New World Order." The United States, argues Sklar, has used the Cold War to justify long term economic, military and political intervention in the Third World. Since 1945 there have been 130 wars throughout the Third World, and the United States controls 40% of the global arms market. Sklar points to Orwellian language in Gulf War reporting, and the 170,000 children killed during the war. The United States uses Narco-terrorism as a cover for counterinsurgency, and uses trilateralism to integrate countries into one capitalist economy. This has caused decreased income in the Third World, and a flow of capital from poor to rich countries. The American dream, Ms. Skar concludes, is leading to this world nightmare.
